Gill breaks school record with 83 at Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's golf team took advantage of beautiful weather on Monday as the Beavers made the short trip to Tiffin for a matchup with the host Dragons and Malone College. Bluffton dropped 12 strokes from its season-opening 378 with a 366 at the Mohawk Country Club on September 14. The 366 stands 3rd on Bluffton's all-time 18-hole scoring list.

Topping the Beavers with a school-record 83 was sophomore Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) who used a sterling 40 on the back nine to cap off her sizzling round! Her 83 was just two strokes off medalist honors on Monday. She eclisped junior Brylee Oberdorf's (Green Springs/Clyde) school mark by two strokes (85). Oberdorf tied for 6th at Tiffin with a superb round of 87.

Sophomore Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) chipped in with a 91, while Grace Branson (Carlisle) and Meredith Obringer (Tiffin/Columbian) rounded out the Bluffton five with scores of 105 and 107.

Bluffton will now gear up to host the Beaver Fall Classic this weekend (September 19-20) at the Bluffton Golf Club on Saturday and Hidden Creek on Sunday. Teams will hit the links at 11 a.m. each day.
