Bluffton caps off weekend with 356 at Beaver Classic

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women shaved 18 strokes off their Saturday score on day two of the Beaver Classic. Bluffton felt right at home at Hidden Creek as the Beavers just missed the school record by one shot with a 356 on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020. Bluffton took 5th place with a two-day total of 730 which was also 2nd all-time for the women.

Leading the way while equaling the school record she set at Tiffin less than one week ago, sophomore Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) fired an 83 which helped her establish a new school record for 36 holes with a 173 for the weekend. Junior Brylee Oberdorf (Green Springs/Clyde) also got in on the record-breaking action with a two-day total of 173. She tallied an 84 on Sunday after leading the Beavers with an 89 on Saturday. The 84 was a collegiate best for Oberdorf.

Sophomore Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) followed with a 91 for a 190, while Grace Branson (Carlisle) carded a 98 which gave her a 194 for the weekend. Junior Keely Briggs (Franklin) finished the Beaver Classic with a 195 after shooting 100 on Sunday.

Bluffton returns to the links when the Beavers travel to Adrian for the Bulldog Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 24.
