Women blitz record books during fall campaign

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The record books saw plenty of action during the fall as Bluffton played a full slate of eight rounds while most Division III teams were unable to compete due to COVID-19. The individual records were all broken, while the team placed rounds in the top 5 for both 18 holes and 36 holes.

Junior Brylee Oberdorf (Green Springs/Clyde) and Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) both bettered Oberdorf's 18-hole record of 85 with 83's this fall. Oberdorf did it twice and she also fired an 84 as she has six of the top 11 scores in school history.

Oberdorf and Gill also took over the 36-hole mark with identical scores of 173 at the Beaver Invite. They broke the previous mark of 174 held by junior Keely Briggs (Franklin). The pair are also on par for the top two season scoring averages with 88.88 for Oberdorf and 91.25 for Gill heading to the spring. Gill's 94.23 season average for 2019 is the mark they are looking to eclipse when 2020-21 is complete.

After a year and a half at Bluffton, Gill has the lowest career scoring average at 93.10, while fellow sophomore Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) is scoring 95.81 heading into the second half of the season. Oberdorf, Grace Branson (Carlisle) and Abby Bullion (Bellevue) are also in the top five on the career list.
