Waggener leads Beavers on day two at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Bluffton University women's golf team capped off its first tournament of the fall season on Sunday, Sept. 5. Day two saw the Beavers shoot a 372, giving Bluffton a final score of 729 and 9th place finish at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational. The 729 was good for #2 on Bluffton's all-time list for 36 holes!

Freshman Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) led the Beavers with an 89 on Sunday. Her 179 for the tourney left her just four strokes behind veteran Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) who went 85 and 90 for a 175 which is 4th all-time for an individual at Bluffton.

Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) chipped in with a 96 in round two, giving her a 184 in her first collegiate tournament. Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) and Isabelle Vance (Continental/Miller City) carded 191 and 206, respectively, for the Beavers.

Bluffton will jump right back into action with a short trip to Colonial Golf Club in rural Harrod, Ohio, for the Polar Bear Classic on Monday, Sept. 6, before wrapping up the four-day marathon at Eagle Rock Golf Club on the northeast side of Defiance on Tuesday.
