Bluffton takes 6th at HCAC Championship

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's golf team capped off its 2021 fall slate with a 6th place finish at the HCAC Championship on Sunday, Oct. 10. Bluffton shot a 355 (tied for 4th all-time) after rounds of 388 and 364 on Friday and Saturday at Legends Golf Club. The 1107 is the best 54-hole score in Bluffton women's history.

Leading the way for Bluffton with a school-record 266 was freshman Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) who finished 18th after shooting an 86 in the final round. Finishing with a 272 in front of her hometown crowd was Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) who carded an 87 on Sunday.

Freshman Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) checked in with a 90 on Sunday, while seniors Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) and Keely Briggs (Franklin) went 92 and 93, respectively.

The HCAC sportsmanship award was developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative in 2009. Members of the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team are selected by the coaches and their teammates as individuals who demonstrate the ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field/court of competition. Nominees must have demonstrated consistently the values of respect, and integrity in his or her daily participation in intercollegiate athletics. Freshman Isabel Miller (Centerville) was recognized from Bluffton Women's Golf.

The Beavers will now take advantage of their indoor practice facility in Founders Hall until it's time to tee it up when they head south next March. Go Beavers!
