Bluffton shatters 36-hole record with a 652

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's golf team played an outstanding weekend of golf at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Sellersburg, Ind. Bluffton demolished its 36-hole school record by 24 strokes with a 652 on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023! The Beavers equaled their one-day old 18-hole school record with another 326 on day two.

Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) paced the Beavers with a 77 at the Hanover College Fall Classic. She finished with a 157 which is good for 2nd all-time at Bluffton and it tied her for 7th at the tournament. Reigning HCAC Player of the Week Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) was just one stroke back with a 158 thanks to rounds of 78 and 80. Her 158 is third all time at Bluffton for 36 holes.

Freshman Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) went 80-87 for a 167, while Sara Kroeger (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) took six strokes off her Friday score with an 82 on day two for 170 over the weekend. Shelby Stammen (Fort Recovery) finished with a 92 on Saturday and 186 for the tournament.

Freshman Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) fired an 86 on Saturday, 16 strokes lower than her 102 on day one! Gabby Green (Beavercreek/Carroll) finished her first varsity tourney with a 190 following rounds of 98 and 92.

Bluffton will be right back at it on Saturday, Sept. 16 when the women make the short trip to Fostoria Country Club for the Heidelberg Fall Invitational.
