Bluffton takes 2nd at Beaver Fall Classic

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's golf team placed second at the Beaver Fall Classic, dominating Heartland Conference foe Defiance College by over 80 strokes. Bluffton scored a 326 for the 5th time in 10 rounds this fall! The Beavers finished the weekend with a 658 which is top 5 all-time for 36 holes.

Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) shot a team-low 79 on Sunday, adding up to a 157 which was 5th at the tournament. Fellow junior Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Bradley) went 74-81 for a 155 (4th overall).

Freshman Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) knocked seven strokes off her Saturday score with an 80 on day two. Back in action on Sunday was senior Shelby Stammen (Fort Recovery) and she carded an 86 for the Beavers.

Gabby Green (Beavercreek/Carroll) finished with a 94 on Sunday after shooting a 95 with an ace on Saturday. Fellow freshman Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) carded a 97, giving her a 190 for the weekend.

Juniors Cheyanne Bolden (Sidney) and Isabel Miller (Dayton/Centerville) played cart golf again on Sunday, putting up identical rounds of 98 after both shooting 100's on Saturday.

Bluffton will be off next weekend after five straight tournaments to start the fall. The Beavers head to Springfield Country Club for the Wittenberg Fall Classic on Sunday, Oct. 15.
