When the Bluffton College women's soccer team opens the 2002 season some new faces will be taking the field, including first year head coach Ben Simcox. But a veteran group of six seniors and four juniors are ready to help the Beavers make headlines in the Heartland Conference.

Simcox, a 1999 BC graduate, takes over for Rick Fee, who resigned in July after seven seasons and a school -record 32 wins. The Pipersville, Pa. Native was a two-year captain for the Bluffton men's soccer team and led the squad in scoring as a senior.

The Beavers were winless last season and finding some offense will be the number one priority. Gone from last year's team are three seniors, including First Team All-HCAC player Kristen McCullough and leading scorer Katie Kantner.

Goal keeper Rochelle Saccomen had a record setting freshman year, as she shattered the Bluffton College record for saves amassing 207 in fourteen games. Senior April Leu and sophomore Sulah Hogfeldt look on last season's performances when both collected one goal a piece. Also returning are junior Kelly Dietrick and sophomore Lindsey Delscamp, who recorded one assist on the campaign.

Bluffton's season opens begins on Saturday, August 31 when they host Huntington for the first time in school history.
