The Bluffton College women's soccer team blanked Lake Erie College 2-0 on the road Saturday afternoon for the Beaver's first win of the season.

After a scoreless first half, senior Jill Domachowski got the scoring started with a goal with 29:15 left in the game off an assist from senior April Leu. The goal was Bluffton's first of the season, and was followed by their second goal of the season just 11 minutes later as sophomore Emily Peter scored a goal off an assist from freshman Rachael Stine.

The win snaps a 20-match winless streak for the Beavers dating back to Sept. 28, 2000 when Bluffton defeated Orchard Lake St. Mary's 4-1.

Senior Dayna Peiffer collected four saves in the match for Bluffton to notch her first shutout of the season. The Beavers controlled the ball throughout the contest, out-shooting Lake Erie 15-4 and taking a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Earlier in the week, Bluffton fell to Concordia, Mich., 4-0 on Wednesday.

Bluffton will travel to Adrian College (Mich.) Thursday before returning to the Emery Sears Athletic Complex to host Goshen College on Saturday at noon. The Beavers will begin play in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 1, as Defiance College visits Bluffton for a 4 p.m. contest.
