The Bluffton College women's soccer team dropped a heart breaker to Franklin College Saturday afternoon at the Emery Sears Athletic Complex by the final score of 2-1 in double-overtime.

Bluffton took a 1-0 lead as junior Kelly Dietrick scored a goal with 42:08 left in the second half off an assist from freshman Gina Berelsman

A Franklin goal with 8:47 left in the game forced overtime, but when neither team scored in the first overtime the game progressed into double-overtime, when Franklin scored the winning goal.

Senior goalkeeper Dayna Peiffer collected 18 saves in the game off of 19 Franklin shots.

Bluffton falls to 1-10 overall and 0-4 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and will travel to Manchester College on Oct. 17 and to Mount St. Joseph on Oct. 26.

Four players all share the team lead in scoring with one goal each, including Dietrick, senior Jill Domachowski, sophomore Emily Peter and sophomore Heather Brooke.
