BLUFFTON, OHIO - The Bluffton University women's soccer team (0-2) fell to Bethel College in their 2004 home opener 5-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman Talia Kauffman (Conover/Graham) scored Bluffton's lone goal late in the game at the 81:56 mark. Goalkeeper Rochelle Saccomen (Ashland/Ashland) had a solid performance by posting 21 saves on the match.

"I'm pleased with our offensive effort. We had much better team chemistry this game than our first game," head coach Steve Smucker said. "I wanted to play Bethel because it was important for us as a team to see what we're capable of."

Bluffton University will be back in action next Wednesday, September 15th at Hiram College. Start time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
