Beavers fall to Goshen in double OT

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team (0-3) put up a valiant effort before falling, 1-0, to the Goshen College Maple Leafs (1-3) in double overtime on Saturday, September 9, 2006.The loss marked the second consecutive by the score of 1-0 after a season-opening 6-0 defeat at the hands of Concordia University.

The Beavers outshot Goshen, 12-11, with both teams putting five shots on goal. ALLISON WHITE (Lima/Shawnee) took six shots while MEGHAN FORQUER (North Canton/Green) tallied three. White and ELYSE BURCKHART (Telford, Pa./Souderton) both ripped two shots on goal to lead the Beavers. 

ASHLEY BLOOM (Tiffin/Calvert) picked up four saves in the extended contest before TRISH HERSHBERGER ended the game just over six minutes into the final overtime period. 

Bluffton returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 13, when it plays host to Urbana University. The women's contest is scheduled to kick-off at 5 p.m.
