BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team wasted no time finding the back of the net as junior Meghan Forquer (North Canton/Green) buried a shot from the box less than two minutes into the contest with Cincinnati Christian and never looked back. Bluffton took its season opener over the Golden Eagles by a 3-1 count on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008. The Beavers are 1-0 while CCU dropped to 1-1 on the season after a season-opening 6-1 victory over Atlanta Christian on Sept. 1.

Freshman Kourtney Lewis (Arlington/Riverdale) added another goal for Bluffton to make the score 2-0 at the 18:15 minute mark in the first half. Just before the break, Cincinnati Christian's Danielle Mount picked up a loose ball in front of the Bluffton goal and knocked it across the line to cut the deficit in half.

With less than three minutes remaining in the game, senior Allison White (Lima/Shawnee) took a Lewis throw in and converted, giving the Beavers a 3-1 win over the Eagles.

CCU was limited to just one corner kick, compared to three for the Beavers. Bluffton put 18 shots on goal while Cincinnati Christian finished with seven. Freshman goal keeper Katy Wisby (Lancaster/Bloom-Carroll) ended the game with two crucial saves while Lewis paced the Bluffton offense with six shots, including four shots on goal.
