October 20, 2008

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior ALLISON WHITE (Lima/Shawnee) has been named women's soccer Player of the Week in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for the week ending Oct. 19, 2008.

White scored all three Bluffton goals in the Beavers' 3-0 shutout of Franklin College on Saturday, Oct. 18, for her first career hat trick. She finished the match with seven shots, including four on target, as Bluffton completed a pair of shutouts over Heartland Conference foes Defiance and Franklin last week. White, along with teammates Alex Jess and Kourtney Lewis, is tied for 10th place in the HCAC with five goals.

The Beavers improved to 5-7-1 on the season and 3-2 in the HCAC following the win over the Grizzlies. The three wins in the HCAC are the most by a Bluffton women's team since joining the conference in 1998.

The Beavers will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 21, when they host Manchester College at 2 p.m.
