HANOVER, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team failed to respond to an early Panther goal as HCAC rival Hanover held on for a 1-0 win on Saturday, October 25, 2008. With the loss, the Beavers fell to 5-9-1 on the season and 3-4 in the HCAC, while the Panthers improved to 4-3 in the HCAC and 6-8 overall.

Just 11:46 into the first half, STEPHANIE TRIBBETT knocked in a rebound shot for what ended up being the game-winning goal as the Beavers failed to break up the shutout by the Panthers.

MEGAN FORQUER (North Canton/Green) and NICOLE FREY (Wauseon/Wauseon) paced the Beavers' offense with two shots each, while senior ALLISON WHITE (Lima/Shawnee) chipped in with Bluffton's only other shot. Freshman keeper KATY WISBY (Lancaster/Bloom-Carroll) tallied 11 saves in the 1-0 loss.

Hanover pounded 20 shots, compared to only five for Bluffton. Hanover forced four corner kicks and limited Bluffton to just one. The Beavers were whistled for five fouls, while the Panthers were called for 12 infractions during the contest.

Bluffton returns to action on Wednesday, October 29, when the Beavers travel to face Taylor-Ft. Wayne. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
