Bluffton puts it all together in 5-0 shutout of Rochester

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dominated Rochester College as the Beavers defeated the Lady Warriors 5-0 on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Bluffton now stands 6-5  on the season while the Lady Warriors dropped to 4-9.

Bluffton's KATY WISBY (Lancaster/Bloom-Carroll) found sophomore KOURTNEY LEWIS(Arlington/Riverdale) for the first Beaver goal just seven minutes into the contest. Wisby scored Bluffton's second goal with an assist from CATIE WHITE (Lima/Central Catholic). Lewis returned the favor just shy of the thirty-minute mark as Wisby scorched the net for the second time in the half and sixth time this season.
 
The game slowed down for the next 40 minutes until KATIE SPAIN (Marysville) generated the fourth goal for the Beavers thanks to a pass from fellow freshmen MADDIE MOORE (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams). White chipped in the last goal at 79:07 to guarantee Bluffton the shutout victory, 5-0, over Rochester.
Wisby led the Beavers with six shots, five on frame. Following close behind was Lewis with five, four on frame, and White with four shots, all on target. Lewis, Wisby, White, and Moore each had assists for the Beavers.
 
Freshman keeper MOLLY MARTIN (Brookville) finished with four saves in 90 minutes of action. The Beavers forced four corner kicks during the match, while Rochester countered with three. The fouls for the teams were close as Bluffton committed 11 and the visitors  eight.

The Beavers return to action on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 10, when they host conference rival Hanover College. The contest is slated to start at 2 p.m.
