BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team was defeated 4-0 by Transylvania on a cold and rainy Saturday, October 2, 2010. The loss dropped Bluffton's record to 3-7 and 0-2 in the Heartland Conference, while Transylvania improved to 8-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the HCAC.

The Beavers put up a solid effort against the Pioneers, giving up two goals in the first half. However, the Transy offense proved too much as both ELIZABETH SCHMITT and AMY GHIBAUDY finished with two goals each in the 4-0 victory for the Pioneers.

Bluffton University put up six shots, but Transylvania tallied 20. The Pioneers forced seven corner kicks while holding the Beavers to just one as the final seconds ticked off the clock.

Freshman ELIZABETH WILSON (Circleville) put both of her shot attempts on frame. Freshman goalkeeper MAGGIE ARMSTRONG (Vevay, Ind./Switzerland County) finished with nine saves.

The Bluffton women will host Earlham College in another HCAC battle on Wednesday, October 6. The contest is slated to start at 4 p.m.
