ANDERSON, Indiana - The Bluffton University women's strong offense coupled with a stifling defense resulted in a 4-0 blowout win against Heartland Conference rival Anderson University on Saturday, October 9, 2010. The Beavers improved to 4-8 (1-3 HCAC) with their first conference win, while the Ravens fell to 3-10 on the season and 1-3 in the HCAC.

Freshman MEGAN MOREO (Spencerville/Delphos Jefferson) found the back of the net at the 23:07 mark. 11 minutes later, teammate AIMEE WHITMER (Grand Rapids/Otsego) blasted a shot from 20 yards out to put the Bluffton women up 2-0 before halftime.

Just 10 minutes into the second half, Moreo connected with sophomore MADDIE MOORE (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams) at the top of the penalty box to give the Beavers a 3-0 cushion over the Ravens. With less than seven minutes left in the match, Bluffton's MONIQUE DEVOL(Lancaster/Bloom Carroll) scored the Beavers' final goal of the contest with an assist from freshman teammate SARAH DAILEY (Zanesville).

Junior KOURTNEY LEWIS (Arlington/Riverdale) led the team with five shots, followed by two from Megan Moreo. Five other Bluffton women had one shot each in the competition.

The tight Bluffton defense held the Ravens to just five shots and one corner kick. The Beavers forced six corner kicks and freshman keeper MAGGIE ARMSTRONG (Vevay, Ind./Switzerland County) had one save in the match. The Beavers were whistled for five infractions, just one more than the home team.
