Bluffton and CCU battle to scoreless tie in 2 OT's

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team left the pitch with a 0-0 tie after 110 scoreless minutes against Cincinnati Christian University on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. With the tie the Beavers moved to 4-8-1 overall, while CCU left Bluffton with a mark of 6-6-2 for the 2010 season.

Despite their best efforts, neither team could net a goal in the two regulation periods or the two 10-minute overtime sessions. JESSICA RAMIREZ (Archbold), MADDIE MOORE (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams) and junior KOURTNEY LEWIS (Arlington/Riverdale) all tallied four shots each for the Beavers, with two shots on goal from both Ramirez and Moore.
 
Bluffton University generated 22 shots, 10 more than their opponents, while freshman goalkeeper MAGGIE ARMSTRONG (Vevay, Ind./Switzerland County) racked up four saves on the day. Both teams were whistled for 15 infractions and the home team forced one more corner kick (5-4) than the CCU Eagles.
 
The Bluffton women jump back into HCAC action when they host conference rival Franklin College on Saturday, October 16. The battle between the Beavers and Grizzlies is slated to start at 2 p.m.
