HANOVER, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team headed to Hanover College on Sunday, March 28, for a Heartland Conference matchup. The Beavers had a monumental challenge on their hands, playing against a Panther club that is the cream of the crop in the HCAC. Hanover took care of business with a 6-0 victory on a cold and windy Sunday. The women's squad is now 0-7-1 overall and 0-6-1 in the conference, while Hanover improved to 7-0 and 7-0 in the HCAC.

The game plan for the Beavers went out the window as Hanover scored quickly at the 20:03 mark and then racked up two more tallies in minutes 31 and 36. The first half was rough for the squad with Hanover taking all 11 shots in the opening stanza. Bluffton forced one corner kick while Hanover put up three.

Unfortunately, the second half was more of the same as the Bluffton women struggled to slow down the Panthers. Hanover scored three more goals, including two in the final nine minutes en route to the convincing 6-0 shutout.

Senior Sienna Sullivan (Hillard Davidson/Columbus) had seven saves for the Beavers. The home team finished with two more fouls (6-4). Corner kicks were 8-1 in Hanover's favor, and the Panthers fired all 26 shots in the match.

The women will be back in action on Wednesday, March 28, at 3:30 p.m. when the Beavers wrap up the regular season at Manchester University.
