GREENVILLE, Penn. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a tough 2-0 decision at Thiel College on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021. Bluffton slipped to 2-2 on the season while the Tomcats improved to 1-1-1.
A Thiel penalty kick just over 10 minutes into the fray made it 1-0 in favor of the home team. That score held up until the 88:10 mark when another Tomcat tally put a wrap on Thiel's 2-0 victory Wednesday night.
Junior Shelby Case (Holland/Springfield Senior) paced the Beavers with two shots. Freshman Brielle Collier (Anna) fended off six shots in her 90 minutes between the pipes.
Thiel finished with a 17-7 advantage in shots, including 8-4 on frame. Bluffton forced five more corner kicks (7-2) and it was also whistled for five more infractions (11-6).
The Beavers will hit the road again on Saturday, Sept. 18, when they travel to Muskingum University. Kickoff from New Concord is slated for 5 p.m.
