Beavers come away with 2-2 tie at Hiram

HIRAM, Ohio – The Bluffton University women's soccer team dueled Hiram College to a 2-2 tie on Sunday afternoon. The Beavers moved to 0-2 on the season with Hiram seeing a mark of 1-1-1.

Hiram found the net first late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead. Bluffton's Kelsie Gladieux (Northwood/Lake) answered back with a goal of her own, assisted by Nina McGinn (Marion/Harding), to tie it up 1-1. 

After a non-contact injury suffered by Bluffton's Katlin Sanning (Fairborn/Tecumseh), the game was delayed for twenty-six minutes with 19:31 remaining in the contest. After play resumed, Hiram found themselves taking a 2-0 lead. Forty-three seconds later, McGinn netted the final shot of the game to tie it up 2-2. Bluffton goalie, Brielle Collier (Anna), finished the match with three saves, compared to Hiram's five. 

The Beavers open their season at home on Wednesday, Sept. 7, when they welcome Olivet College to the Sears Complex. The match is set to kick off at 3 p.m. Go Beavers!
