Beavers wrap up season with loss at Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. – The Bluffton University women's soccer team wrapped up their 2022 campaign with a 4-0 loss to Anderson University in the opening round of the HCAC tournament. The Beavers finished their season with the best conference record since 2011 sitting at 5-11-1 overall and 4-5 in the HCAC. The Ravens improved to 10-4-3 overall (6-2-1 HCAC).

A tough battle from both teams ended with two Raven goals in the first half followed by two more in the second to secure their 4-0 victory over Bluffton. Powering the Beaver offense was Nina McGinn (Marion/Harding) with six shots, four on goal. Clara Matthews (Bluffton) and Katelyn Burden (Sidney) both fired three shots apiece in the loss.

Bluffton keeper Brielle Collier (Anna) tallied six saves during the match, one behind Anderson's seven. The Beavers outshot the Ravens (15-13), but put three fewer on goal (10-7). Anderson forced one more corner kick (4-3) while being whistled for one more foul (7-6).
