BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Anderson on Saturday, Sept. 30. The Beavers fell to 2-7-1 (0-2 HCAC) while the Ravens improved to 4-3-2 (1-0-1 HCAC).

Anderson struck early with their first goal coming less than eight minutes into the match for a 1-0 lead. They would score again three more times in the opening frame making it 4-0 lead going into halftime. A strong Beaver defense denied any more goals for the Ravens, but the offense was not able to produce as the home team made the first half scores hold up.

The Beavers tallied four shots against the Ravens, including two on goal, one from Nina McGinn (Marion/Harding) and the other from Alyssa Kester (Centerville). Bluffton keeper Brielle Collier (Anna) added nine saves to her stat line.

Anderson out-shot the Beavers by a comfortable 22-4 margin and it forced six more corner kicks (9-3). Bluffton pulled down seven more saves (9-2) but the visitors were whistled for three more fouls (11-8).

The Beavers are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 4, when they welcome Mount St. Joseph to the Sears Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. under the lights at Salzman Stadium. Go Beavers!
