McGinn earns 2nd Team All-Heartland

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team saw its two leading goal scorers earn All-Heartland Conference honors on Thursday, Nov. 9. Fifth-year senior Nina McGinn (Marion/Harding) notched 2nd Team All-HCAC, while junior Alyssa Kester (Perrysburg) was named Honorable Mention Heartland Conference.

McGinn was recognized for the third straight year and it marked the first time since 2020-21 (Maddie Huffman) that a Beaver has been named 2nd Team All-Conference. Her seven goals were tied for 7th in the conference, while her 35 shots on goal were 2nd in the HCAC. McGinn fired 69 total shots (3rd in the HCAC) and over 40 more than anyone else for the Beavers!

The all-time great played in a school-record 78 matches and her 67 career starts are tied for 2nd all-time. She is 4th all-time at Bluffton with 17 goals, 11 assists and 45 points! McGinn wrapped up her outstanding career at Bluffton 10th all-time with 4,654 minutes on the pitch.

Kester chalked up her first post-season All-HCAC honor after scorching the net with six goals in 2023. She scored three times in the first eight minutes at Defiance en route to a season-high four goals which was just one tally of the school record held by Becky Boblitt and DeAnna Anderson! The junior scored six goals and added two assists for 14 points on just 16 shots. She started 14 matches and ripped the game winner in Bluffton's 8-0 drubbing of Defiance!
