Freshman Michelle Bailey broke two school records and sophomore Clint Dillon took third place in the pole vault as the Bluffton College track and field squad competed at the Division III All-Ohio track and field meet hosted by Otterbein College and Ohio Wesleyan University on April 19 and 20.

Bailey set school records in the hammer throw with a toss of 112-01.00 and in the discus with a throw of 123-03.00 to place fifth and seventh, respectively, for a total of six points.

Dillon cleared 14 feet in the pole vault to take third place and score six points to be Bluffton's biggest point-getter on the men's side.

Also scoring points for the women's team was freshman Jana Hammer, who took seventh place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.11 seconds for two points. Junior Travis Lepley took seventh place in the hammer throw with a toss of 116-06.00 to earn two points and the 4x100 meter relay squad finished eighth in 44.39 seconds to earn one point.

Up next for Bluffton is the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships, which will come to BC's Salzman Stadium on Saturday, April 27.

Both the men's and women's squad finished 15th overall as the BC men scored nine points and the women scored eight points.

Other BC women having good showings included freshman Amanda Habegger in the 400-meter hurdles (9th, 1:09.85), sophomore Rachel Noirot in the pole vault (10th, 2.29m), Hammer in the 200-meter dash (13th, 27.31) and sophomore Laurel Miller in the 100-meter hurdles (16th, 16.95).

Men's squad highlights also included sophomore Ryan Nusbaum in the 100-meter dash (12th, 11.50), freshman Adam Super in the 100-meter dash (15th, 11.51), senior Rick Orr in the shot put (10th, 47-03.00), freshman Chris Mackey in the 400-meter hurdles (12th, 59.31), freshman Jason Lehman in the long jump (16th, 18-11.50), Lehman in the 100-meter hurdles (14th, 16.45) and junior Steve Borga in the 10,000 meter run (35:48.59).
