The Bluffton College track and field team completed their fall workouts as preparation for the spring season, with a few athletes showing their early talent at the University of Findlay Oiler Opener, December 11.

Sophomore transfer Steve Myers led the way for the Beavers with an impressive opening performance in the shotput.  Myers' throw of 44' 9.75" was the best throw in two seasons for Bluffton, while fellow sophomore throwers Mike Klotz and Dustin DeWeese also showed potential for the upcoming seasons.

Fresh off their cross country seasons, sophomores Jennifer Creamer and Pat Cooley hit the track in the 3000 meters.  Creamer finished sixth in a time of 11:52.60, running strong in a field comprised solely of Bowling Green and Miami (OH) athletes.  Cooley, meanwhile, finished tenth in a time of 10:12.01.

The Beavers will now take a rest for Christmas Break before competing next at Ohio Northern on Friday, January 23.
