Dillon named HCAC player of week for third time

BLUFFTON , OHIO - Senior CLINT DILLON ( McAllen , TX /Bucyrus) has been named player of the week for the Heartland Conference in men's track for the week ending May 9, 2004 . It is the second straight week and the third time of 2004 that Dillon has received the honor from the HCAC.

Clint finished eighth at the Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday at Indiana University . The senior also improved his national qualifying mark with a vault of 15'11". His height was good enough for first among all NCAA Division III competitors at the meet. Dillon is currently ranked eighth in the nation (Division III) in the pole vault.

"Getting this award three times in one season speaks to the new levels that Clint continues to reach on a weekly basis. We know that much more is possible and we're on track for a good run at nationals," head coach Nate Smith said.

Dillon will participate in the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College this weekend as he continues preparation for the NCAA Division III National Championships at the end of the month.
