Junior CLINT DILLON ( McAllen , Texas /Bucyrus) placed fourth in the country in the Pole Vault Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Div. III Track and Field National Championships.

Dillon tied for fourth place with a vault of 15-7.5 that gave him the highest ever finish for a Bluffton track and field athlete at the nationals. The fourth place finish also gives Dillon 2004 Division III Track and Field All-American status.

"Clint accomplished one of our main goals by becoming All-American this season," head coach Nate Smith said. "I can't think of a better way to end my coaching stint at Bluffton. I want to ultimately recognize Clint for his efforts and performances this season. To be one of the top four vaulters in the nation for Division III is truly an outstanding accomplishment."

Dillon already owns the indoor and outdoor Pole Vault records at Bluffton. He has vaulted as high as 15-11 at the Indiana University Billy Hayes Invitational this season.
