Bluffton competes at the Findlay Invitational

FINDLAY, Ohio - The Bluffton University track and field team participated at the University of Findlay Invitational on Jan. 28-29. Both the men's and women's teams had a strong meet and showed improvement.

Leaders on the women's side were freshman MARIEL NASH (Loudonville/Loudonville) who broke her previous Bluffton indoor record in the shot put with a distance of 36' 9.75''.  In the high jump junior KIRSTIE DRAVENSTOTT (Smithville/Smithville) placed fifth with a jump of 5'1.00'' (lifetime best). Junior STEPHANIE WELCH (Berne, Ind./ South Adams) ran well in the 1000-meter dash with a time of 3:28.94. Welch also competed in the high jump where she finished with a jump of 4' 11.00.''

On the men's side junior DAN ROSEBROCK (Napoleon/Napoleon) placed sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:00.85. The men's distance medley relay team made up of SHANDON NORTH (Galion/Galion), TYLER FAIRCHILD (Toledo/Whitmer), JORDAN BRUNER(Wauseon/Pettisville) and DAN ROSEBROCK shattered the Bluffton indoor record with a time of 10:56.12. Junior STEVE MYERS (Delphos/Jefferson) finished strong in the shot put with a distance of 44' 2.50''. In the 400-meter dash sophomore SHANDON NORTH finished with a time of 53.09.

Next up for Bluffton will be the Anderson University Invitational on Feb. 5.
