Bluffton competes at the University of Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Bluffton University men and women's track team traveled to the University of Cincinnati to compete on March 19. The men earned an eighth place finish while the women finished ninth.

Leading the way for the men's side was sophomore SHANDON NORTH (Galion/Galion) who achieved a lifetime best time in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.60 and placed fifth in the event. Freshman KEVIN DAVIS (Albion. Mich./Albion) placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.2. In the men's high jump sophomore RICKY REUCHER (Toledo/Central Catholic) placed fourth with a jump of 6'00''. Freshman REX BROWN (Wauseon/Pettisville) placed sixth in the men's javelin throw with a distance of 39.22m.

On the women's side, sophomore CINDY ALLAN (Fayette/Archbold) had a successful meet as she achieved a lifetime best in the triple jump with a distance of 32'5'' and a ninth place finish. Allan also had good performances in the long jump as she placed ninth, in the 100 meter dash where she placed thirteenth with a time of 14.06, and in the 4x100 meter relay where they finished seventh. Other leaders for the women were junior RITA MUETHER (Celina/Celina) who finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.79. Senior JANA HAMMER(Hamler/Patrick Henry) placed eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.52.

Next up the Beavers will travel to Defiance College for the Dick Small Invitational on March 25.
