Beavers run at Ohio University Invitational

ATHENS, Ohio - The Bluffton University men and women's track team competed in the Ohio Invitational held at Ohio University on April 2.  The Beavers competed against a tough Division I field in blustery conditions. The men placed seventh with the women's side earning tenth in the meet.

Leading the men's team was freshman REX BROWN (Wauseon/Pettisville) who placed first in the Javelin throw with a distance of 149'1".  Freshman KEVIN DAVIS (Albion, Mich./Albion) finished second in the long jump with a leap of 21'6.25".  Sophomore SHANDON NORTH(Galion/Galion) ran a solid race in the 400m dash to place fifth with a time of 50.64.  JuniorDAN ROSEBROCK (Napoleon/Napoleon) placed fourth in the 800m run with a time of 2:03.77. 

For the women junior KIRSITIE DRAVENSTOTT (Smithville/Smithville) finished sixth in the high jump with a leap of 4'9".  Senior AMANDA HABEGGER (Berne, Ind./South Adams) placed sixth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:13.57 and eighth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.25.  Junior RITA MUTHER (Celina/Celina) finished in seventh place in the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.59. 

Bluffton will be back in action on April 8 when they travel to the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
