Bluffton women place 4th, men 6th at Anderson Invitational

Bluffton, Ohio - The Bluffton men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Anderson University last Saturday night for the AU Indoor Invitational.  The women finished fourth while the men ended up sixth in a field that included several HCAC teams.

Sophomore SARAH HUMPHREY (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) and senior JENNIFER CREAMER (Westerville/Westerville South) continue to push each other as they each broke the 5000m school record for the third consecutive meet.  Humphrey finished fourth with a time of 19:18.24, while Creamer followed closely with a fifth place finish and a time of 19:24.06. Senior KIRSTIE DRAVENSTOTT (Smithville/Smithville) was the women's only event winner as she won the high jump with a leap of 4-11.75. Senior RITA MUETHER (Celina/Celina) and freshman CHANTEL MANGRUM (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian) placed third and fourth in the 400m crossing the line in 1:05.99 and 1:06.62 respectively. 

On the men's side senior DAN ROSEBROCK (Napoleon/Napoleon) broke his own school record in the 800m winning the race with a time of 1:59.70. Junior SHANDON NORTH(Galion/Galion) finished second in the 400m crossing the line in 50.90. Rosebrock and North were also members of the Distance Medley Relay team that ran a 10:52.12 breaking the school record by nearly five seconds. Other members of the relay were sophomore TYLER FAIRCHILD (Toledo/Whitmer) and junior JORDON BRUNER (Wauseon/Pettisville). 

The Beavers return to action on February 11th when they will be at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships (Div. III) at Ohio Northern.
