Bluffton women place 4th, men 5th at ONU meet

ADA, Ohio - Friday, February 17 the Bluffton men's and women's track and field teams competed at the ONU Friday Night Series Meet #4. The women finished fourth out of seven teams while the men ended up fifth out of six.

Junior SHANDON NORTH (Galion/Galion) ran his way into the record book for the fourth time this season, winning the 500m with a time of 1:06.87. In the 300m, senior COLBY BRIGHt (Galion/Galion) crossed the line in 36.82, breaking the school record and garnering first place accolades.  Senior DAN ROSEBROCK (Napoleon/Napoleon) once again made history running a 1:57.50, good for second place in the 800m. The 4x400 relay team of North, Rosebrock, junior JOHNNY ICHRIST (Toledo/Whitmer) and sophomore REX BROWN (Wauseon/Pettisville) finished third with a time of 3:34.17.

Sophomore SARAH HUMPHREY (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) continued to better her time in the 5000m as she broke her own school record running a 19:13.37, good for first. Senior RITA MUETHER (Celina/Celina) finished second in the 60m crossing the line in 8.35, while also ending up third in the 300m with a time of 44.24. Freshman ASHLEY SMITH(Delta/Delta) ran a personal best in the 800m, running a 2:33.26 which placed her third.

Bluffton returns to action next Friday night, February 24, 2006 at ONU for the Friday Night Series Meet #5.
