BLUFFTON, Ohio - Junior SHANDON NORTH (Galion/Galion) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 9, 2006.

North helped the Beavers with strong performances at the Marv Frye Invitational on Apr. 7. The junior track athlete placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.08 seconds. His time eclipsed the 22-year old Bluffton school record in the event. North also placed 16th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.18 seconds. He earned six points for the Beavers who finished in tenth place at the invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.

The Beavers return to action on Saturday, April 15, 2006 when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan to compete in the All-Ohio Championships.
