Three Beavers named All-Heartland Conference

DEFIANCE, Ohio - Three members of the men's and women's track and field teams earned All-HCAC honors for their performances at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on April 29, 2006.

Senior RITA MUETHER (Celina/Celina) earned all conference honors after winning the 400 meters in a school record 59.07 seconds. She also finished second in the 100 meters with a time of 25.80 seconds and was a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams which both placed third.

Freshman KARYN DAVIS (Liberty Center/Liberty Center) won the shot put with a toss of 36 feet, 2.25 inches. She also placed sixth in the women's hammer throw.

Senior COLBY BRIGHT (Galion/Galion) made a late surge to win the 400 meters, crossing the line in 49.14 just ahead of teammate SHANDON NORTH (Galion/Galion). He was also a member of the Beaver's 4x400 relay team that took second place.

Several members of the Bluffton men's and women's track and field teams will participate in the Toledo Rocket Open at the University of Toledo on Friday, May 5, 2006.
