Sarah Humphrey named Athlete of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior SARAH HUMPHREY (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 20, 2008.

Sarah Humphrey won the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:03.27 at the Manchester Spartan Classic on Saturday, April 19. She broke Bluffton's five-year-old school record by 20 seconds and won the event by 33 seconds.

Humphrey was recently recognized as the Katherine E. Little Award winner at Bluffton University. She has been named Academic-HCAC five times and is the school record holder in five events and one relay. Humphrey recently broke her own school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

In cross country, Humphrey was the number one runner for four years at every meet. Humphrey was named All-HCAC twice and Most Valuable Player four times.

The Beavers return to action on Friday, April 25, 2008 when they travel to Anderson University for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
