Jason Fisher scores 23 points at All-Ohio Championships

DELAWARE, Ohio - Several members of the Bluffton University track and field team competed at the All-Ohio Championships on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, April 11, 2009. The men placed 14th out of 20 squads on the strenghth of JASON FISHER'S (Rockford/Parkway) 23 points. The women took 18th place with five total points.

Jason Fisher scored all 23 of Bluffton's points, including 10 for his first place throw in the hammer (169-02 feet). He finished second in the shot with a toss of 49-04.50 feet and his throw of 149-02 feet in the discus was good for fourth place and five points.

Freshman KOURTNEY LEWIS (Arlington/Riverdale) collected three points with a sixth place leap in the high jump (5-00.25 feet). Senior sprinter ASHLEY SMITH (Delta/Pike-Delta-York) chipped in with two points following her seventh place showing in the 400 meter dash (1:01.04).

The Beavers travel to Wilmington College on Saturday, April 18, in a final tune-up before the HCAC Championships at Rose-Hulman on April 24-25.
