Johnson and Fisher turn in outstanding performance at Marv Frye

DELAWARE, Ohio - The Bluffton University track and field teams competed at the Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, April 10, 2010. The men placed 11th and the women came in 14th out of 15 teams. Host Ohio Wesleyan University won on the men's side while Baldwin-Wallace College won on the women's.

Leading on the men's side were seniors JASON FISHER (Rockford/Parkway) and ROBERT JOHNSON (Columbus/Marion Franklin). Fisher had second place finishes in the shot put (49-05.75) and in hammer throw with a toss of 177-05, which is a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Fisher also placed sixth in the discus (141-00). Johnson was victorious in the 100m dash with a time of 11.29.
 
Pacing the women was sophomore MEGAN NEAL (Arlington). Neal placed fifth in the hammer throw (131-05) and sixth in the javelin (98-01).

The men's and women's track teams will return to Ohio Wesleyan University next Saturday, April 17, for the All-Ohio Championships. Field events are slated to start at 10 a.m.
