Webb, Fisher and Men's DMR honored by HCAC

February 25, 2014

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the All-HCAC honorees for the indoor track and field season. Pole vault champion TERRILL WEBB (Kenton), JACK FISHER (Norwalk/St. Paul) and the men's Distance Medley Relay team of Fisher, TYRONE WHITE (Orrville), MARTIN RUSS (Rocky River) and JOSHUA EDENS (Westerville/Central) were all recognized following their outstanding performances at Anderson on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014.

Freshman Terrill Webb emerged as the conference champion in the women's pole vault, clearing 10' 3", re-setting her school record in the process. The squad of freshman Jack Fisher in the 1200, freshman Ty White in the 400, senior Martin Russ in the 800 and sophomore Josh Edens anchoring in the 1600 erased another four seconds from their previous school record, clocking 10:34.62 to finish 2nd to the blistering anchor leg of Manchester University's Michael Stocker. Fisher returned to the track later in the meet in the open 800 where he nearly ran down Defiance standout Troy Parrett to finish 2nd in 1:57.39, rewriting the school record that had stood since 2006.

With the close of the indoor season, the Beavers will continue their training as they prepare for the outdoor campaign which opens March 21-22 in Lexington, Va., at the Washington and Lee Track & Field Carnival. Bluffton will take a brief hiatus from group practice as the Beavers enjoy spring break from March 1-9 before returning to campus on March 10.
