March 23, 2015

BLUFFTON, Ohio - TREY EVERETT(Sidney/Fairlawn) continued to dominate the competition when the Beavers opened their outdoor campaign at the Washington & Jefferson Carnival over the weekend. For his efforts in Virginia, Everett has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. It marks the third time that Everett has taken home this honor in 2015 after two indoor field athlete of the week awards this winter.

The sophomore won the long jump with a winning leap of 6.92 meters and he was victorious in the high jump with a jump of 1.96 meters.

The honor comes just one week after Everett earned All-American status for a third place finish in the high jump at the NCAA Division III Nationals in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was also named the 2015 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Year. Everett won two field events at the championship. He had a winning mark of 2.07 meters (6' 9.50") in the high jump and claimed the title in the long jump with a leap of 7.08 meters (23' 2.75"). Both of those winning marks were new HCAC records.

The track and field squad is back in action this Saturday, March 28, at the Defiance College Dick Small Invitational.
