Mohler named HCAC Player of the Week

October 17, 2016

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University junior Sydney Mohler (Lima, Ohio/Central Catholic) helped the Beavers put up a pair of four-set victories at Anderson and Franklin en route to being named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on defense.

It marks the third straight week, and fourth time this year, that a Beaver has been named the HCAC Player of the Week, coming on the heels of Heartland Player of the Week honors for MacKenzie McFarlin (Ashland) and Lauren Weisgarber (Bolivar/Tuscarawas Valley) on offense.

Mohler picked up a career-high 33 digs in Bluffton's 4-set win at Anderson on Wednesday and then she obliterated that mark with 45 pickups on Saturday at Franklin. Mohler finished with 78 digs on the week (9.75 DPS) in the conference victories. She added two aces and eight assists for the Beavers.

Bluffton will host Manchester on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and non-conference foe Wilmington at home on Friday at 7 p.m. Come out and fill up the Sommer Center as the Beavers kick off five straight home matches this Wednesday!
