BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University cross country team had a solid weekend as they ran in the Heartland Conference championships at Defiance College.
The men finished in fourth place with a total time of 2:31:22. Leading the way for the Beavers was sophomore DAVE ESPINOZA (Toledo/Whitmer) finishing in 12th place with a time of 28:55. Closely behind him was junior DAN ROSEBROCK (Napoleon/Napoleon) ending up in 14th place with a time of 29:24. Rounding off the meet for Bluffton was JORDAN BRUNER(Wauseon/Pettisville) who finished 29th with a time of 30:52. ANDY SCHIEFER(Bucyrus/Wynford) placed 31st (30:57) with TYLER FAIRCHILD (Toledo/Whitmer) finishing 33rd (31:16).
The women also ran well finishing in fifth place with a total time of 2:05:33. They were led by All-HCAC performer freshman SARAH HUMPHREY (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) who finished in 11th place with a time of 23:20. Finishing in 24th place was junior JENNIFER CREAMER (Westerville/Westerville South) with a time of 24:36. Rounding off the meet for the women was LAUREN BORGA (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) who finished 31st with a time of 25:21. JENNIFER NIEDERMIER (New Washington/Seneca East) placed 34th (25:36) and LAUREN BAILEY (Powell/Upper Arlington) finished 36th (26:44).
The Beavers will be back in action November 13, running in the NCAA Division III Regionals at Alma College in Michigan.
