Junior Kyle Alberson was named the tournament's most-valuable-player and Bluffton College tied for second place with a 4-4 record as the EMU-Sarasota Spring Classic concluded Friday in Sarasota, Florida.
On Friday Bluffton fell to Juniata 8-5 but came back to defeat host Eastern Mennonite 6-4 in the event's final game. The four wins in the tournament marks Bluffton's best-ever showing at the Classic, which is now in its seventh year.
Thomas More won the tournament with a 7-1 record, with their only loss coming at the hands of Bluffton on Monday as the Beavers defeated the Saints 11-10.
Alberson set a tournament record with eight homeruns, the last of which came Friday in the first inning against Eastern Mennonite with a three-run blast.
Senior Wes Hall and junior Ryan Fiely were also named to the All-Tournament team.
A complete recap, including statistics and game-by-game box scores, will be available Monday night.
