BLUFFTON, Ohio - Three Bluffton University baseball players have recently been selected as All-Heartland Conference for the 2005 season. Senior RYAN FIELY (Greenville/Greenville), senior JASON MOORE (Elida/Elida) and junior TONY GERIG (West Unity/Hilltop) were honored for their play during the 2005 campaign. Fiely was named second team all-conference with Moore and Gerig being named honorable mention.

Fiely was named to the second team as he started every game for the Beavers in 2005. Fiely posted a .318 batting average with 20 runs scored on the year. He led the team in several hitting categories on the season with 41 hits, 29 RBI's, nine doubles, four home runs and 62 total bases. Fiely was named the HCAC baseball hitter-of-the-week once this past season.

Moore finished his career with Bluffton as he knocked out a .333 batting average on the season. He posted 35 hits, two doubles, 13 RBI's, 37 total bases and led the team with 10 stolen bases. Moore, who was also a starting pitcher, recorded a 5-4 record on the mound with a 4.04 ERA and one shutout win. He gave up 79 hits and struck out a team high 33 batters for the season. In Heartland Conference action Moore posted a 5-1 pitching record with a 3.86 ERA.

Gerig finished his junior year with a .286 batting average, 34 hits, four doubles, 17 RBI's and 38 total bases. He led the team in runs scored with 27 for the year. As an outfielder Gerig posted only one error in 64 attempts for a .985 fielding percentage.

The Beavers finished the 2005 campaign with a 9-28 overall record and a 6-15 record in the Heartland Conference.
