Beavers score a run in 10th for 11-10 win over Juniata

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Bluffton Beavers pulled out yet another win in extra innings against Juniata College on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. For the fourth time in as many days, the Beavers played in a game that went to extra frames. This marked the third contest that Bluffton has won in extra innings as Bluffton scored a run in the 10th for an 11-10 win over Juniata.

Improving to 2-0 on the young season was sophomore Tyler Stephenson (Springfield/Northeastern)who pitched 1.2 innings of shutdown relief. He rapped out three hits and scored three runs, including the game-winner on a Cody McPherson (Northwood/Millbury Lake) sacrifice fly. McPherson also had three RBI on the day to go along with two hits.
 

Bluffton was patient at the plate drawing 11 walks to go along with nine hits in the victory. The Beavers stole seven bases as a team, including four by sophomore Nick Broyles (Toledo/Whitmer) who also received four free passes. Michael Knorr (Pickerington/North) scored two runs for Bluffton.

The Beavers return to action back in Ohio on Tuesday, March 16, when Bluffton makes the short trip to Heidelberg University in Tiffin. The contest is slated to start at 4 p.m.
