BLUFFTON, Ohio—Bryce Fink is a senior baseball players for Bluffton University. Graduating from Medina High School in Medina, Ohio, Bryce is a sport management major with minors in marketing and coaching. I was able to talk with Bryce about his time at Bluffton.

Bluffton's campus and community is a draw to many prospective students. Bryce was no different, finding a home on the small campus. "I liked the idea of a small campus and community as a whole," he said. "It's close knit and felt like home. When I got here everyone welcomed me."

Student-athletes have a lot to manage on campus. Between class and their sport, little time is left to do homework. Finding the time to sleep was Bruce's toughest challenge. "With the late practices, having to get homework done and being active at night, it was hard to get sleep," he said.

Student-athletes don't always have it rough though. They learn many valuable lessons they are able to take into their field. For Bryce, time management and leaderships are qualities he learned. "Making sure tasks are done and getting the goal you are striving for takes time management and leadership," he said.

Bryce made a host of memories during his four years at Bluffton. His favorite came near the end of his sophomore year. "The game against Transylvania when (Colin) Gregory hit the grand slam and dogpiling on the mound," he said.

Bryce has grown wiser thanks to his time at Bluffton. His advice for younger teammates, "Don't take it for granted. Baseball is a special game. Enjoy every second of it," he said. "Stay humble and be grateful for your chance when you get it."
