Bluffton, Oh—Tommy Siemer is a senior pitcher for Bluffton University. He is from Liberty Township, Ohio, and graduated from Lakota East High School. Tommy is a sport management major. I was able to talk with Tommy about his time here and what made him want to come to Bluffton.

Sports dominate the campus. Many students on campus are student-athletes. This is what drew Tommy to Bluffton. "Baseball and football made me want to come to Bluffton," he said. Tommy played football his freshman year and he was a wide receiver.

Student-athletes have some difficulties balancing school and athletics. Time management is often a problem for student-athletes. Tommy was no different. "Time management was an issue," he said.

Student-athletes learn lessons they are able to take into their field or court. Tommy said, "Discipline, being on time, the little things people appreciate more when they are done correctly."

Being on campus for four years, Tommy has made many memories at Bluffton. His favorite came during his sophomore year, making the conference tournament for the first time in school history. "Winning to get into the conference tournament and dogpiling on the mound," he said.

One thing Tommy wants his younger teammates to know is the value of relationships. "The relationships you build with your teammates will last a lifetime," he said. "You make more friends every year with the incoming freshman."
