BLUFFTON, Ohio - Freshman Kyle Rode (Delphos/Delphos Jefferson) has been named Co-defensive football player-of-the-week for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for the week ending Sept. 11, 2005.

Rode recorded seven tackles (five solo, two assisted) in the Beavers 31-6 win over Hiram College last Saturday. The defensive lineman also had two tackles-for-a-loss and two quarterback sacks for a total loss of 14 yards.

The Beavers now stand at 1-1 for the season and will host Thiel College this upcoming Saturday, Sept. 17. Kickoff for the team's 2005 home opener is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Salzman Stadium.
