Alan Pancake is going into his first year as the Bluffton University Linebackers Coach, Special Teams Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. His recruiting area is Southwest Ohio, Eastern Kentucky, and Eastern Tennessee.

Prior to Bluffton, Pancake was the linebackers coach, strength and conditioning coordinator and recruiting coordinator at North Carolina Wesleyan from 2018-2022. There he coached Antonio Johnson, a 2019 D3 All-American and 2-time USA South Defensive Player of the Year. The 2019 season was a 6-4 year and 2nd place conference finish which was a program best since 2010.

Before that he spent a year at the University of Pikeville working with outside linebackers and one year as the defensive line assistant at Carthage College. He coached two all-conference outside linebackers and one all-conference defensive lineman.

Pancake is a 2015 graduate of the University of Dayton with a bachelor’s degree in health and sports science. As an undergraduate he worked with the offensive line and tight ends at Dayton, including Adam Trautman a 2020 3rd Round NFL draft pick and current New Orleans Saints tight end. The 2015 season resulted in a PFL Championship and hosting the University’s first ever Division 1 (FCS) Playoff game.
